Our dance fitness workouts are designed to be fun and effective. Each routine is designed to build strength, burn calories, and boost your mood.

Our certified instructors are highly trained in dance fitness and provide modifications for all fitness levels. As one of the few fitness programs with an on-staff exercise physiologist, we guarantee a workout that is safe, effective, and supports your longevity.

SHANNA MISSETT NELSON

Chief Executive Officer

Shanna Missett Nelson is the Chief Executive Officer of Jazzercise, managing the strategic direction of both the business and Apparel, and heading the corporate Executive Leadership Team. Shanna is also a 37+ year veteran instructor who teaches at least three times per week, creates brand choreography, and manages Jazzercise, Inc.’s two corporate-owned fitness centers. At the end of a Jazzercise-filled day, Shanna enjoys spending time with her two daughters and pup Shadow.

YOUNG MCCARTHY

Senior Vice President of Product Innovation and Development

Young McCarthy is the Senior Vice President of Product Innovation and Development and the FitPro team lead at Jazzercise. With 30 years of teaching experience and 25 years at Jazzercise, she has held various roles, including training, coaching franchisees, program development, and streamlining systems. Young holds a business degree in high-tech management and has a passion for technology. Outside of work and teaching at the Oceanside studio, she enjoys time with her husband and daughter.

EMILY NEWLANDS

Program Development Specialist, Taping Team member

Emily Newlands is a Program Development Specialist, Taping Team member, and Jazzercise On Demand contributor with over 13 years of teaching experience. Trained in dance, Pilates, and yoga, she holds a Master of Science in Nutrition and Integrative Health. Emily has significantly contributed to Jazzercise programming, including co-creating the Simply Plated nutrition program. She is passionate about travel and connecting with others, grateful for the global community she has met through Jazzercise.

TONI PITRUZZELLO

Video On Demand Specialist & Taping Team member

Toni Pitruzzello is a Video On Demand Specialist & Taping Team member at Jazzercise, Inc., with over 14 years of instructor experience. Known for delivering some of the hardest-hitting workouts and popular playlists, Toni energizes the Carlsbad studio with her weekly classes. She holds a B.A. in Theatre/Acting with a background in musical theatre. While she loves center stage, Toni enjoys working behind the scenes to bring On Demand to thousands worldwide. She also enjoys Latin dance, wellness science, and embracing her Sicilian heritage.

GWENDA SHARP

Exercise Physiologist

Gwenda is the Exercise Physiologist for Jazzercise Inc., teaching for 21 years and serving as the physiologist for 13. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma University Health Sciences Center and a Master of Science from the University of Central Oklahoma. Her expertise includes biomechanical analysis, kinesiology, and physical rehabilitation. Gwenda lives in Oklahoma and teaches at the Edmond studio, loving how Jazzercise positively impacts women's health and well-being.

Founder & Executive Chair

Judi Sheppard Missett is a fitness icon who, at three years old, discovered a passion for dance that would eventually fuel a global dance fitness empire. An exercise pioneer, Judi has received numerous prestigious business awards, including the Presidential Commendation for Top Woman Entrepreneur and the Sports Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Over the last 50 years, Judi and her Jazzercise instructors have raised over $32 million for various charities.
